Terry Ownby Presented Opening Lecture at Lewiston Photo History Exhibit

Dr. Terry Ownby, associate professor of photo media in the communication, media, and persuasion department, presented the opening public lecture for a three-month photographic history exhibition in Lewiston, Idaho. Stories We See—Early Photography of the Valley is an exhibition and lecture series at the Lewis-Clark State College Center for Arts & History, which displays the rich photo history of the Lewiston area dating back to the Civil War era. Dr. Ownby was invited to lecture on his research about Idaho’s first lady photographer and commercial studio owner in 1864. Grant funding was provided by the Idaho Humanities Council, Idaho Commission on the Arts, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
