“We acknowledge that some people choose to live on the streets,” said Todd Johnson, director of the ISU Veterans Sanctuary. “We want to help people of need in the fall better prepare themselves for the winter ahead.”
ISU programs from dental hygiene to cosmetology and health sciences will participate in several different services. ISU-Meridian and ISU graduate-level counseling students will also provide traumatic brain injury screenings.
Services offered include:
- veteran and civilian resources
- health care services
- hot breakfast from Chartwells
- sack lunch from the LEAD’s Center
- hygiene kits
- clothing
- hair cuts
- job assistance
- prepaid phones and postcards
“This event also is a great way for students to give volunteer hours towards a good cause,” Johnson said.
