School of Performing Arts Presents: Southeastern Idaho Honor Band 2025
March 6, 2025

Southeastern Idaho’s 2025 Honor Band is a two-day event on March 19 and 20 in the world-class Jensen Hall at the L.E. and Thelma E. Stephens Performing Arts Center.
This year, students from 13 high schools across Idaho will participate in this show of Idaho’s best young musical talent. This year, Idaho State University and the School of Performing Arts are proud to host this annual educational event to foster the development of talented young musicians. The public performance will be held at 7 p.m. on March 20, featuring a performance by the Idaho State University Wind Ensemble, followed by the highly anticipated finale of the Southeastern Idaho Honor Band.
Each year, Idaho music students diligently practice and audition for a coveted spot in one of the honor bands, gaining the opportunity to hone their musical skills with the guidance of experienced professors and professional musicians. Through this opportunity, they hone their musical talents under the guidance of experienced professors and professional musicians. The Southeastern Idaho Honor Band immerses students in the rich world of musical artistry, emphasizing teamwork, technical skill, and unwavering dedication. More than anything, this event is dedicated to inspiring the next generation of young musicians to create the innovative musical world they want to live in.
This transformative experience is shaped by the guidance of the professors leading it.
Dr. Patrick Young, ISU director of bands, states, “I really want students to walk away with a deeper appreciation for musical artistry, improved technical and ensemble skills, and take home a sense of accomplishment from working with their peers at such a high level.”
The Southeastern Idaho Honor Band highlights the vital role of music education in 2025, offering students a chance to shape their future both on stage and in life. By allowing students to help create the musical makeup of tomorrow, they have the opportunity to define who they will be on stage and in life.
As Dr. Young says, “It provides students with unique learning experiences, can create lasting friendships, and inspire a lifelong love of music. I’m already so incredibly proud of these young musicians and our ISU students, and will always be grateful for the educators, parents, and supporters who make an event like this possible!”
Tickets are available now at the ISU Box Office or by calling the box office at (208) 282-3595. Ticket prices range from $8-$12. ISU students can receive a free ticket to the show by presenting their current student ID at the ISU Stephens' Box Office.
