Recreation and Wellness Center Programs

Idaho State University Recreation and Wellness, formerly known as Campus Recreation and the Wellness Center, has added several programs and facilities for the entire Bengal community. 

Check out these new opportunities to improve your health and wellness. 

  • Relaxation Lounge, Rec Center Room 264: A dedicated relaxation room featuring evidence-based modalities to help individuals learn to manage stress effectively, recharge, and relax. 
  • Certified Peer Education Program, Reed Gym Room 205: NASPA Certified Peer Educators are a committed group of students trained with the knowledge and skills to lead wellness education programs, offer peer support, and help build a positive campus culture.
  • Teaching Kitchen Series:Students can strengthen their kitchen skills and learn to make nutritious and delicious dishes  with monthly cooking classes in collaboration with Bengal Dining’s Executive Chef. For more information, email wellness@isu.edu
  • BEAST Fitness, Rec Center Room 277: Bengal Endurance And Strength Training drop-in HIIT workout, Mondays & Wednesdays 4-5pm; free to students and members. 
  • Masters Swim, Reed Gym Pool: Coached workout in the pool, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, noon to 1 p.ml. You should be comfortable in deep water and able to swim 50 yards continuously. Free to students and members. 
  • Midterm De-Stress Fest, Recreation and Wellness Lobby: Wednesday, March 5. Featuring chair massages, therapy pets, art projects, stress-relief yoga, gratitude journaling, happy lights, giveaways, and more!
  • Fresh Fruit Fridays, Recreation and Wellness Lobby: A partnership program with Bengal Dining, free fresh fruit is provided every Friday while supplies last.
