Institute of Rural Health's AmeriCorps Programs Receive Mayoral Proclamation

On March 6, 2025, the Institute of Rural Health accepted a mayoral proclamation from the City of Pocatello, recognizing March 9-15 as AmeriCorps Week, to coincide with a national celebration.

AmeriCorps creates service opportunities that strengthen communities and expand pathways to education, careers and civic participation for those that serve. 

Idaho State University's Institute of Rural health administers three AmeriCorps programs to engage the city of Pocatello and other communities throughout the state of Idaho in service for the citizens of those regions in the areas of mental, physical and social health. 

Annie Mendoza, grant project coordinator for the Idaho HealthCorps AmeriCorps program in the Institute of Rural Health, accepted the proclamation and encouraged the citizens of Pocatello to provide service to someone within their sphere of influence.
