Responsibility and Task Assessment

March 4, 2024

As part of our Budget Optimization Initiatives, we are collecting important data to help us understand how work is being done and supported across the University. Please consider taking this survey.

Several optimization plans running concurrently are focused on collecting data related to the responsibilities and tasks of multiple roles across campus. For the purpose of this survey, these include Administrative Support Services, Information Technology, and Marketing and Communications.

Over the next several months, our budget optimization work groups are exploring a number of topics, including:

  • Administrative support shared service model structures that will enhance and support consistency, collaboration, efficiency, standardization and training, data security, succession planning, and career ladders for administrative personnel.
  • Service and support needs for marketing and communications, administrative support, and technology, including resources, staffing, expenditures, and organizational structures by examining strengths, issues/gaps, and opportunities.
  • Opportunities for increased service, efficiency, efficacy, and budget savings while assuring optimal service needs.

This survey data will be an essential part of our data and analysis and will help our work groups understand needs, issues, and opportunities and inform recommendations for improvement. The survey will be open for three weeks, and you can save your progress as you go. You can return to the survey by clicking the original link.

Initial findings and recommendations from our work groups will be shared with all stakeholder groups for discussion, review, and feedback. Final recommendations will go to the Budget Advisory Group, Leadership Council, and then Administrative Council for approval.

The survey is anonymous. Only the aggregated data will be analyzed and shared. At the conclusion of the survey, you may enter your contact information to be entered into a drawing for one of five prizes, including an iPad or Bengal swag bag. You may also choose to provide your contact information if you would like a follow-up discussion related to the survey and its topics. We appreciate your thoughtful attention and responses, as the survey covers many of the critical subjects involved with each optimization plan.

If you have any questions about this survey please contact Patience Ternus at patienceternus@isu.edu
