Nutrition Faculty Publish a Combined 12 Journal Articles
February 1, 2024
Several faculty in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics recently participated in disseminating research findings, an essential component in maximizing the impact of ISU's scientific discoveries.
Dr. Cynthia Blanton, RDN, published five articles in peer-reviewed literature on her research; Dr. Chrissa Petersen, RDN, published four; and Dr. Barbara Gordon, RDN, published three. One of Dr. Blanton's papers was a collaboration with an MS in nutrition graduate student on the effect of branched-chain amino acid supplementation on cancer treatment. Dr. Petersen's work expands our understanding of functional foods and the gut microbiota. Dr. Gordon was the first author and driving force on an in-depth review of patient engagement scales; co-authors included three other College of Health faculty members.
"I am impressed with the depth and magnitude of work from individuals within our department. I am pleased to see that our department has such prolific writers," said Department Chair Char Byington.
