John Marlowe Selected as Institutional Research Director

Dr. John Marlowe has been named as the new Institutional Research Director for ISU. Dr. Marlowe has a background spanning education, government, manufacturing, and higher education sectors. With a focus on AI, data science, and analytics, he has excelled in various roles, including leveraging analytics in the public sector to combat fraud, waste, and abuse. In academia, he has served as a department chair for business and IT at Education Management Corporation, and held the position of IR director at the College of Southern Idaho.

Previously, he held pivotal roles as inaugural Principal Data Scientist at Alaska Airlines and then Senior Data Scientist at Plug Power, where he concentrated on operations, airline optimization strategies, clean energy and hydrogen fuel cell projects, delivering substantial financial benefits.

Dr. Marlowe's educational journey includes a bachelor's degree from the University of Idaho, master's degrees from Saint Joseph’s University and Idaho State University, and a doctorate in computer science specializing in big data analytics from Colorado Technical University. Dr. Marlowe will begin his duties within Institutional Research on August 5. 

Dr. Marlowe will be replacing Vince Miller in the Institutional Research director position. On August 23, Vince will be retiring after fifteen years of service to ISU as the IR Director.
