ISU Faculty Senate News

Congratulations from the Faculty Senate go out to the following faculty:

  • Dr. Amanda Zink, Professor of English in the Department of English and Philosophy, was elected as the next Vice-Chair of the Faculty Senate for the 2024-2025 term. She was also recently honored with ISU’s Distinguished Service Award for 2023-2024.
  • The current Vice-Chair of the Faculty Senate, Dr. Fredi Giesler, Assistant Professor of Social Work in the Department of Sociology, Social Work and Criminology, will be taking on the challenging role of Chair of the Faculty Senate for the 2024-2025 term. She was also honored with ISU’s Outstanding Service Award for 2022-2023.
  • The Faculty Senate has also elected Dr. Chad Yates, Professor of Counseling in the College of Health, as a Faculty Ombuds for the 2024-2027 term. He is replacing Dr. Dave Delehanty, Professor of Biology in the College of Science and Engineering, who finished his three-year tenure as the first elected ISU Faculty Ombuds. Our thanks go out to Dr. Delehanty for his stellar work as Ombuds as we welcome in Dr. Yates!
