ISU Alumni Coaches U.S. Olympic Athlete to Golden Victory

ISU sends congratulations to Pocatello native, ISU alumni, and U.S. Olympic Coach, Zeb Sion. Sion is the coach of Valarie Allman, an American discus thrower who recently won back-to-back gold medals in the Paris Olympics with a throw of 69.50.
Allman, the defending gold medalist, threw nearly four meters farther than her competitors.
Sion currently works at the University of Texas and is widely regarded as the top throwers coach in the USA. He graduated from the ISU athletic administration program in 2007 and at one point set the record at ISU for the outdoors shot put.
