Bengal Debaters Take Fourth in National Sweepstakes

Idaho State debate has returned from the Pi Kappa Delta National Speech and Debate Comprehensive Tournament this past week in Glendale, Arizona.  

Ten members of the Bengal Squad attended along with their coaches and judges.The Bengals brought home a number of trophies, plaques, and other citations. The team took 4th nationwide for "small entries" (less than 25), and claimed a speaker excellence citation for overall delivery quality. Emma Grow (nursing sophomore, Idaho Falls) brought home 9th in Junior Varsity IPDA for speaking quality, and Chelsea Blanchard (communication sophomore from Sandpoint) claimed the quaterfinalist trophy in Novide IPDA Debate. In Individual Competition, Olivia George received accolades for excellence in impromptu speaking (social work, junior, Idaho Falls).
