Admissions and Recruitment January Update

February 22, 2024

The start of a new year is always exciting, and being refreshed from the holiday break, our Admissions team started strong by traveling to 32 different high schools for visits, hosting 73 individual tours and four campus group tours. In addition, our Admissions and Recruitment Coordinators attended six college fairs where they spoke to prospective incoming first-year students and potential transfer students about completing their degrees at ISU. ISU was represented at a good mix of fairs by attending the Bingham County College Fair, Jefferson High School College Fair, Leadership Boise, and She Tech.

Also, in January, we hosted Rugir Con ISU, an event designed specifically for Hispanic/Latino students and their families to learn more about ISU. With last year's success in Idaho Falls, we expanded to include more locations this year. Starting on January 22nd in Pocatello, we had 104 people attend, and six scholarships were handed out. We followed up next with Idaho Falls on January 24 and ended on January 30 in Twin Falls. You can find additional information in the breakdown below.

Starting in February and continuing through mid-March, our recruitment coordinators will participate in the IACRAO Spring 2024 Higher Education Tour. During this tour, they will travel across the state to meet with students interested in ISU. February kicks off in the Treasure Valley, then to the Magic Valley, and ends in Southeast and Northern Idaho.

Through our various email, text, and print communications, we had over 228,000 contacts with students in January. Click here to view the entire month breakdown and keep track of progress throughout the year.
