Spring 2025 Professional Development Award application Deadline December 1

Applications for spring Professional Development Awards are due December 1. The financial award can help pay for opportunities that help ISU employees learn new skills or improve job performance. This can include fees for workshops, conferences, classes, training, or related travel expenses. To apply, you must be a full-time ISU classified or non-classified staff member who has completed at least six months of service by the time the event takes place.

More about the Staff Council Professional Development Award

Staff Council currently commits $1,500 per year for the program, and funds opportunities three times per year, essentially aligning with the fall, spring, and summer academic semesters. Staff must find and present their own professional development opportunity and justify its benefit. The only real restriction is the funds cannot pay for academic credits. The maximum amount an individual can receive is $500. The application process and decisions are administered by the Professional Development Committee, which is made up of Staff Council Members who volunteer their time and efforts.

The next funding period is for opportunities occurring between January 1, and April 30, 2025. The deadline to apply for funds in that period is December 1, 2024.
