Research Participants Needed for Study on Cognitive Behavioral Treatment for Insomnia

September 12, 2024

Openings are available at the Idaho State University Psychology Clinic for a research study focused on the cognitive behavioral treatment for insomnia.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia will focus on a few techniques to aid with managing and improving poor sleep. Eligible participants will be asked to complete an in-home sleep study, wear a wrist-watch like activity and light monitor, complete a six-week therapy program with a graduate student clinician, and complete an assortment of related questionnaires.

Participants will receive a total of $100 for their complete participation and will receive therapy free of charge.

The clinic is a training and behavioral health care center connected with the ISU Department of Psychology. This treatment facility, which was established in 1978, provides training for doctoral students in the clinical psychology program as well as a low-cost treatment option for children and adults living in Southeastern Idaho. Services are not restricted to the university and most clients are community members. Clients work collaboratively with psychology trainees and the supervising clinical faculty to resolve mental health difficulties and reach personal goals. The clinic is located on the fifth floor of Garrison Hall on the ISU Pocatello campus.
