President’s Alumni Tour Celebrates ISU’s Bold Path Forward
December 12, 2024
ISU is on an exciting journey to shape its future, and alumni are at the heart of it. As part of the university’s Bold Path Forward initiative, ISU President Robert W. Wagner has embarked on a nationwide tour to connect with alumni and friends, gather valuable insights, and celebrate the shared experiences that make ISU unique.
The President’s Bold Path Forward: Alumni Tour has been a resounding success, bringing together ISU alumni from diverse backgrounds to discuss the future of their alma mater. From Idaho to California, Utah, Oregon, and beyond, the tour has created a space for alumni to engage in meaningful dialogue, share their experiences, and explore ways to contribute to ISU’s continued success.
“The feedback from our alumni has been incredible,” said President Wagner. “These intimate gatherings have provided a unique opportunity to hear directly from our alumni about what makes Idaho State University special to them. I’m grateful for the opportunity to connect with so many passionate and dedicated individuals who want to be part of ISU’s bold future.”
The tour has traveled through nine cities, including Idaho Falls, Twin Falls, Pocatello, Los Angeles, Coeur d’Alene, Salt Lake City, Portland, Seattle, and Phoenix. Each event has been designed to foster connections and celebrate ISU’s achievements, creating a welcoming and inspiring atmosphere.
“The energy at these events has been one of celebration and reflection,” said Amy Dressel, interim alumni director. “It’s been a powerful reminder of the incredible community that exists at ISU all across the country. Our alumni are deeply invested in the university's success, and their commitment to ISU’s growth is truly inspiring.”
Alumni have expressed a deep sense of pride in their university and a strong desire to give back, whether through mentorship, donations, or support of current Bengal students. Many have shared their personal stories of how ISU shaped their lives and careers, while also looking forward to future opportunities to get involved and help strengthen the university’s impact.
“Your visit carried great significance,” stated a tour participant. “Traveling from Idaho to Portland, Oregon, you brought not only your presence but also valuable insights that inspired and united us. Through your reflections on ISU’s continuous growth and achievements, you reminded us of the excellent work being done to move ISU forward in education and beyond. Your visit has strengthened the bond between alumni and our alma mater, giving us a renewed sense of connection and pride in ISU’s progress.”
The tour will continue in 2025 with additional stops in Washington, D.C., (Feb. 15), Boise, Idaho, (March 7) and Denver, Colorado (TBA). Other event locations are being considered. Alumni are encouraged to RSVP and join the conversation as ISU moves forward with its ambitious vision for the future.
“We are charting a bold and inspiring path forward at Idaho State University,” President Wagner concluded. “I look forward to continuing to connect with our alumni and working together to make this vision a reality.”
