Outdoor Education Students Service Project

September 5, 2024

Outdoor education students at Ross Park climbing wall cleared brush during a service project.

Recently, ISU students in the outdoor education program taking the HP SS 2283 Leave No Trace Environmental Ethics Course completed a service project with the City of Pocatello. Students cleared brush that had grown in between the climbing areas on the shady side of Ross Park that had created safety hazards for climbers. Students led the initiative, working professionally to coordinate the project with the City of Pocatello and Parks and Recreation to make improvements to the park. Because of their help, extra space and safer climbing areas were opened for climbers and spectators to enjoy.
