Notice of Fall Fire Evacuation Drills

August 22, 2024

As part of our commitment to preparedness and campus safety, several buildings on the ISU campuses in Pocatello and Idaho Falls will conduct fire evacuation drills between August 26 and September 6. The evacuation schedule and instructions are available on our website. Meridian will continue to follow their regular evacuation schedules.

Please use the campus map to identify your building’s Areas of Assembly. This map is readily available on our website and can be accessed through the FREE Rave Guardian Safety App. Rave Guardian offers exceptional services and critical information that effectively protects our community. Download today for a chance to win future giveaways.

Here are some friendly reminders if you are teaching, working, or attending an event and hear the fire alarm:

  1. Remain calm and immediately go to the nearest exit.
  2. Assist students and visitors to the campus through the process by encouraging them to follow you to the exit.
  3. Avoid using elevators, even during fire drills. If you require assistance during the evacuation, wait at the nearest Area of Rescue or near a stairway for assistance from a public safety official.
  4. Follow all instructions provided by Public Safety.
  5. Use the Area of Assembly Map to locate the closest assembly point to your building.
  6. Wait at the assembly area for instructions, and do not re-enter the building until you are told to.

Faculty or staff who have special needs or concerns or may require assistance during an evacuation should call Disability Services at (208) 282-3599.

We deeply value your contribution to ensuring the safety of our campus community. As September is National Preparedness Month, we are committed to providing valuable safety information and resources to support our staff and faculty in preparing for emergencies or disasters. Please look out for these important updates on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook under the username @isupublicsafety.
