Jared Bartel Named Chief Information Security Officer

After an extensive search, Jared Bartel has been named Chief Information Security Officer role. As Associate CIO, Bartel expanded the cybersecurity department, added critical technologies that have decreased our campus vulnerabilities, and developed centralized logging processes to ensure compliance and reduce incident resolution times. 

Bartel's leadership philosophy emphasizes the importance of building strong relationships that will serve him and ISU well as our first CISO. In this role, Bartel will manage Security and Research Computing.

With this change, Kathy Hoffman has been named interim Director of Infrastructure Services role and will oversee ISOS, Network Engineering, and Network Operations. Chris Olsen has taken on an interim Senior Engineer role and will oversee the Network Technicians team and work. All of these changes go into effect November 10.
