Idaho State University Reports Fall Enrollment Increases

This fall, Idaho State University welcomed the largest class of first-time undergraduate students in a decade.
Total fall enrollment at Idaho State University increased 3.5 percent this fall compared to last fall, with a total enrollment of 13,078. First-time undergraduate enrollment was 1,802, an increase of 2.4 percent over last fall.
Total undergraduate enrollment was 10,850, an increase of 4.1 percent, and the highest since Fall 2016. This fall marks four straight years of undergraduate enrollment increases.
“We are incredibly proud of our gains in university enrollment. This growth represents a great deal of planning and effort, but it also represents a significant investment in the recruitment and retention of our students,” said Corey Zink, Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management. “Our recruitment staff has worked tirelessly to develop meaningful communications and deliver unique events, and our entire university has collaborated to ensure prospective students across the state know that ISU is a wonderful place to pursue a degree.”
Other notable enrollment numbers include:
- Dual enrollment, students who are enrolled in both high school and college courses, increased 3.4 percent, with a total of 3,152 students enrolled in the program.
- Undergraduate transfer student enrollment was up 8.6 percent.
- Total graduate enrollment also increased 0.5 percent.
“Four consecutive semesters of enrollment growth show the institution's commitment to the great state of Idaho and is evidence of our continued momentum,” said ISU President Robert Wagner. “ISU is going boldly forward in expanding our reach throughout the state by offering important academic programs that serve students in our communities and positively impact the state’s economy and vitality.”
Enrollment numbers from fall semester are typically reported on Oct. 15, Idaho’s official Census Day.
