Idaho State University Department of Art Announces Art à la Carte Silent Auction
October 28, 2024
The Idaho State University Department of Art is thrilled to announce its eleventh annual Art à la Carte Silent Auction on Nov. 1 from 5 to 8 PM at the Pocatello Art Center, located at 444 N Main St, Pocatello, ID 83204. This exciting event will showcase a variety of artwork created by our talented students, faculty, and alumni, with proceeds supporting student scholarships, visiting artists, the ISU Foundation, and departmental needs.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Pocatello Art Center for their generous donation of three original paintings from their legacy collection. Among these pieces are two stunning works from the early 1990s by renowned artists:
- Sunny Apinchapong-Yang, a celebrated artist originally from Bangkok, Thailand, who has made significant contributions to the art world since his arrival in the United States.
- Zoltan Szabo, an influential watercolorist whose works are housed in prestigious collections worldwide, including the Smithsonian Institute.
In addition to these exceptional pieces, the silent auction will feature a diverse selection of artwork, including jewelry, ceramics, prints, sculptures, and wearables. There will also be smaller gift items available for bidding.
We invite the community to join us for an evening of art, culture, and camaraderie, while supporting our dedicated art students. Don’t miss the opportunity to take home a unique piece of art!
