Early Voting is now open for the Pocatello/Chubbuck School District 25 Supplemental Levy Renewal

October 17, 2024

Early voting is now open for the Pocatello/Chubbuck School District 25 Supplemental Levy Renewal Election on the ballot for the General Election on November 5, 2024. The proposed levy will provide $8.25 million annually for the fiscal years 2025-2026 and 2026-2027. This levy will replace the current levy, which is set to expire on June 30, 2025.

The levy amount requested by PCSD 25 remains unchanged from the last renewal, maintaining the current level of funding for educational services. If passed, PCSD 25 will receive a fixed amount of funding as approved, regardless of any increases or decreases in property values across Bannock County. If passed, the Supplemental Levy will provide $8.25 million in funding per year for two years.

Proposed Allocation of Levy Funds:
Salaries and Benefits: $4,725,000
Textbooks & Supplies: $925,000
Instructional Technology & Staffing: $750,000
Extracurricular Transportation/Travel: $600,000
Custodial Services: $575,000
Extracurricular Salaries: $475,000
School Resource Officers: $200,000

The funds from the Supplemental Levy are used to deliver high quality educational and support services to the nearly 12,000 learners who live within the boundaries of the Pocatello/Chubbuck School District 25. The voter-approved levy has been renewed every two years and in place for more than sixty years.

Tax Impact Statement/Ballot Disclosure: Per Idaho Code 34-914 (1)(a):
The proposed levy replaces an existing levy that is set to expire on June 30, 2025, and that currently costs $113.07 per $100,000 of taxable assessed value, per year, based on current conditions, and is not expected to change.

Early voting is open from Tuesday, October 1 through Friday, November 1.
