Legal Training: Employee and Student Privacy

As part of an ongoing series of legal trainings for the campus community, the Office of the General Counsel would like to invite all employees to a session on Employee and Student Privacy on July 28 from 11 to 11:45 a.m. on Zoom.

To participate, please sign up online. You will then receive a calendar invite with access to the Zoom link.

During this session, we will discuss the following topics:

• Public records and privacy statutes, including personnel records, emails, etc.
• FERPA and sharing information about students internally and externally.
• Understanding the scope of HIPAA, what it covers at ISU, and what it does not.
• Other privacy considerations.
