ISU Debaters Compete in Back-to-Back National Tournaments over Spring Break

The Idaho State debate Team returned home Sunday March 19 after five days of competition at the Pi Kappa Delta National Tournament in West Chester, PA. They departed again Wednesday March 23 for the International Public Debate Association National Tournament in Boise.

The small team of four delivered 9th place sweepstakes for small university rankings. Ashley Helm, a sophomore studying Education from Star Valley, WY, broke to octafinals in Jr IPDA debate, and Trey Mitchell, a sophomore studying political science and philosophy from Pocatello was also recognized for his 8th place speaking quality in Public Forum debate. 69 universities participated. Over 500 students attended.
