Idaho State University Installs EnerFusion Solar Picnic Tables

Idaho State University is pleased to announce the purchase of four EnerFusion Solar picnic tables which provide “off the grid” electricity for charging personal electronic devices.
In partnership, Campus Operations and Students Affairs purchased these picnic tables to pilot a small-scale solar project that not only generates power but provides welcoming spaces for our campus community to enjoy studying, socializing and dining outdoors.
The solar picnic tables are located outside of the Student Union, outside of Rendezvous and in the Life Sciences courtyard. Each picnic table is made in America of recycled materials.
Features of the tables include the ability to store electricity for use day or night, ambient lighting activated at dusk and high intensity LED lighting with a timer. Charging options include GFCI outlets, USB Type A, wireless quick charging and USB type C.
Over the summer, Idaho State will receive an E-Bike charging station that is “off the grid” and powered by solar. The E-Bike charging station will be installed in the R-5 lot across from the library. You will need to bring a charging cord to utilize the E-Bike charging station. The manufacturer is planning on retrofitting the E-Bike charging station to include charging chords in the near future.
