Idaho State University Continues to Make Over 450 Classrooms ROAR

Sponsored by the Idaho State University College of Education and ISU Alumni Association, Make Your Classroom ROAR started in the fall 2022 semester with the goal of sharing Bengal pride with educators and students in and outside of Idaho.

The Make Your Classroom ROAR boxes included ISU flags, stickers, pennants, pom-poms, lanyards, a custom stuffed Benny the Bengal and other items that were given to educators to decorate their classroom or office spaces. All educators, including those who are not ISU alumni, were invited to participate.

“We hope that through the orange and black displays even more P-12 teachers and students from across the state will see ISU as the vibrant university it is and consider pursuing their post-secondary education here in one of our undergraduate or graduate programs,” said College of Education Dean, Jean McGivney-Burelle. 

In addition to the free ISU gear, a $500 gift card was provided in December 2022 to a lucky winner who shared photos of their space on social media with the Make Your Classroom Roar gear displayed. Another $500 gift card, sponsored by the College of Education, will be given to an additional winner who will be announced in May 2023.

Every single day, they ignite a fire within our children, empowering them to aspire, think critically, and learn with passion,” said Ryan Sargent, Executive Director of the Alumni Association. “At the ISU Alumni Association, we are privileged to join forces with the College of Education in supporting and recognizing our educators across the nation. Together, we are spreading the spirit of ISU, inspiring our teachers to instill a love for learning and a commitment to excellence in their students."
