Coming Soon: Cybersecurity Training

February 6, 2023

In continued support of the State of Idaho's executive order, Idaho State University faculty and staff are asked to join all other State employees in completing the annual Cybersecurity training.

The 2023 Cybersecurity training will include new modules intended to build on the content provided in past years, as we all work together to defend our state networks, faculty, staff, and students from cybercrime.

What you can expect:

Monday, Feb. 20, 2023 - all ISU employees (including full time, part-time, and temporary employees with network access) will receive instructions from the State of Idaho Division of Human Resources (DHR) (cybertraining@dhr.idaho.gov), on accessing their training account with KnowBe4, the State's online training provider.

Wednesday, March 1, 2023 - the annual Cybersecurity training module will be accessible in KnowBe4. Individual links to complete the 2023 training modules will be emailed to all employees. Each user has a unique link, so you must click on the link you receive via your ISU email to ensure your completion is recorded.

Friday, March 31, 2023 - due date for training completion.

Throughout 2023 - DHR will release additional refresher modules in June and October, and will be periodically conducting random phish tests for state employees to confirm understanding.

What you need to know: DHR requires all Cybersecurity training be completed by Tuesday, March 31 to be eligible for a change in employee compensation (CEC) merit increase, should one be approved by the Legislature. New employees starting after Jan. 1, 2023, will not be assigned the 2022 training.

ISU Human Resources is here to help. We are working closely with DHR to ensure this process works as smoothly as possible and will be diligently working with departments, managers, and supervisors to support the completion of this requirement for all ISU employees.

If you have any questions about this process, please contact Clay Smith at claysmith2@isu.edu, or x2519.
