Volunteers, Workshop Facilitators Needed for Hispanic Youth Leadership Symposium

September 5, 2023

On Wednesday, October 4, Idaho State will have the honor of welcoming over 700 Hispanic high school students to campus for the 5th Annual Hispanic Youth Leadership Symposium sponsored collaboratively by Idaho State University, College of Eastern Idaho, and numerous local business partners.

There are many reasons why this event is significant for our campus and community. The Hispanic Youth Leadership Symposium is the single largest gathering of Hispanic youth in the state of Idaho, where participants are invited to explore higher education opportunities and attend workshops on college and career readiness facilitated by ISU departments and regional employers.

Participants will spend the day attending workshops and a large college and career fair. They will interview with Admissions Advisors in the morning, and many will be awarded scholarships at the closing ceremony. The event emphasizes a future for Hispanic youth in STEM, Healthcare, and Leadership (Idaho STEM Action Center will be on site), but the event as a whole encourages Hispanic students to find a path to their future through higher education.  I

The Hispanic Youth Leadership Symposium committee is seeking workshop facilitators. They are also in need of volunteers to serve as greeters, guides, and hosts. Sign up by Sept. 20 to join a partnership that recognizes the importance and impact of our state’s Hispanic youth.

RSVP today to volunteer or facilitate a workshop.
