Volunteers Needed for October Events

August 21, 2023

Volunteers are needed for two events in October- the Hispanic Youth Leadership Symposium and the Indigenous Peoples Day celebration.

If you have an hour or two to share, please consider volunteering to be a greeter, a guide, a meal host, and, most importantly, a friendly face for the visitors who will be coming to our campus on Oct.4 and 9.

The Eastern Idaho Hispanic Youth Leadership Summit will be hosted at Idaho State University on Oct. 4. The planning committee is looking for volunteers to make this an epic event for over 700 students attending from all over Idaho. If you would like to be part of this opportunity, please sign up to volunteer. The New Student Orientation (NSO) office will hold a training on Sept. 22, from 10 a.m. to noon to ensure that volunteers feel prepared for their roles. Questions? Call (208) 282-2973 or nso@isu.edu.

On October 9, the Office of Equity and Inclusion and Native American Student Services (NASS) will host the fifth annual Indigenous Peoples Day on ISU’s Pocatello campus. This event, focusing on Indigenous health and wellbeing through culture, community, and connection, will be a day-long teach-in for community, students, faculty, staff, and administration. We are seeking volunteers for various roles, including greeters, guides, and moderators. Sign up using the Fall 2023 Volunteer Form. To ensure you feel comfortable in your role, we will offer volunteer training before the event, but you may also contact the Diversity Resource Center  at (208) 282-3142 or drc@isu.edu if you need more information.
