Seeking Student Speakers and Event Participants for MLK Jr. Day 2024

November 15, 2023

The Diversity Resource Center is planning the annual Martin Luther King, Jr., celebration for January 2024. They are seeking Idaho State University students who would like to be considered for the keynote address presenting on topics of mental, physical, and spiritual wellbeing in honor of this King, Jr. quote: “Of all the forms of inequality, injustice in health is the most shocking and inhuman. Public health is a powerful tool to level that playing field, to bend the arc of our country away from distrust and disparities and back towards equity and justice.” They are also looking for two masters or mistresses of ceremony and two to three students who would present poetry or contribute to the event by reading quotes by MLK Jr. The event will be held on January 15, 2024. The event schedule will be finalized once they have all of their speakers. If you are interested in participating or have someone you'd like to nominate, please email drc@isu.edu or complete the nomination form.
