Save the Date: 7th Annual Three-Minute Thesis

The Idaho State University Graduate School invites you to join us for the 7th annual Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) Competition on Thursday, November 9, 2023. This year’s competition will be held at the L.E. & Thelma E. Stephens Performing Arts Center in the Black Box Theatre in Pocatello, Idaho. 

Founded by the University of Queensland in 2008, the 3MT Competition is an academic competition that cultivates students’ presentation and science communication skills. The competition challenges them to describe their research within three minutes to a general audience.

Presenters are limited to a single static PowerPoint slide without any additional electronic media or props to aid them and must present in three minutes or less. Anyone exceeding three minutes will be disqualified. Presenters will be judged upon content and comprehension of their research and their ability to clearly communicate their thesis in an engaging way to a general audience.
