Ryan Redman: October 2023 CPI Intern of the Month

October 19, 2023

Ryan Redman, a sophomore in the Civil Engineering program at Idaho State University, has been named October’s CPI of the month.

Redman currently holds a CPI internship with Walker Engineering in Pocatello. During his internship, Redman has completed design work for various industrial equipment bases as well as composing as-built drawings for Walker Engineering clients.

“Ryan has shown enthusiasm to learn through being engaged with his engineering team,” said Neoma Walker, Walker Engineering’s Business Manager. “Although Ryan has been with our office for only a short time, he has already started taking on more advanced roles and shown leadership skills while working with outside vendors and organizing work with our staff and subcontractors on projects. Ryan is an extraordinary intern.”

Redman has gained experience both inside Walker Engineering as well as out in the field, where he has been able to take field measurements and see various industrial facility processes.

“Through this internship, I’ve learned how to apply an engineering approach to projects,” Redman said. “The difference that this internship has made in my life is immense. I am coming into the engineering world from a career change from the military, so being able to get this internship has shaped my desire to become an engineer into a passion.

Originally from Peoria, Arizona, Redman expects to graduate in May 2026 and plans on working as a civil or structural engineer after graduating. In his spare time, Redman enjoys hiking, camping, hunting, and shooting his bow.
