Matt Daily Named Assistant Vice President and Dean of Students

Student Affairs is pleased to announce that Dr. Matt Daily has accepted the position of Assistant Vice President and Dean of Students.

Daily brings more than 25 years of experience in education to this position, during which time he has been involved in academic affairs, intercollegiate athletics, and student affairs, as well as K-12, as a teacher, coach, instructor, academic advisor, and academic program administrator. He has just concluded his 8th year at the University of Portland’s (UP’s) Shepard Academic Resource Center, where he served as the Associate Director, supervising all support efforts for students, faculty, and staff. 

Daily has also taught classes within the School of Education and for the Dexheimer Leadership Fellows Program at Portland and for the College of Arts and Letters at the University of Notre Dame. In 2022, he was the Miltner Award Recipient, University of Portland’s highest employee award for an individual that has been of exemplary and outstanding service to the University. Daily, who is originally from Los Gatos, California, earned his Bachelor of Arts in American Studies in 1998 from Notre Dame. From 1998 to 2000, he was a member of Notre Dame’s Alliance for Catholic Education teacher preparation program, where he served as a Language Arts, Journalism, and Baseball instructor at Bishop Garriga Middle School in Corpus Christi, Texas. Upon the completion of ACE, he earned his Master of Education from Notre Dame in 2000 and served as Associate Director of Educational Outreach at that institution from 2003 to 2005. The experience included fostering academic connections between Notre Dame students and the K-8 Catholic School students of South Bend. In 2022, he earned his Doctor of Education in Learning and Leading with a concentration in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the University of Portland. He currently holds teaching licensure within the States of California, Oregon, and Indiana.

Daily will start at ISU on Oct. 16.
