ISU United Way Bowling Competition Raises Nearly $1,000
November 6, 2023
Some “Striking” fundraising took place at the Annual United Way Bowling Tournament on Halloween. Sixteen teams competed this year - with great team names and even more impressive costumes.
The event was a lot of fun and there was tough competition with the defending champions, Gutter Gang, losing their crown (or rather Pin Trophy) to Competition Masters from ITS. The highest individual score was Gutter Gang’s Matt Ashton with 153. The Golf Award, on the other hand, goes to the team with the lowest score. This year we are delighted that the United Way team was able to clinch that one, dressed in their adorable inflatable costumes! These prestigious awards will be presented to the winning teams by the United Way Campaign Committee. In the meantime, congratulations to Competition Masters’ Spencer Sessions, Hans Gunter, Josh Wilde and Rod Jackson for an outstanding performance. And to Shantay Bloxham, Ginny Hoyle and Tennille Call for their team spirit, sense of fun and for being ROCKSTARS in the community.
The bowling tournament raised just under $1,000. This is just part of ISU’s donations that will benefit the United Ways at all three campus locations. Meridian raised money and awareness with their Dollars for Donuts and Cash for Cookies events, Idaho Falls had a fun Chili and Dessert Cook-Off.
Since 1999 to date, ISU employees have contributed close to $1,000,000 to the United Way through one-time contributions or payroll deduction! There is still time to make your contribution or sign up for payroll deduction. Payroll deductions will begin in January 2024, they do not rollover year to year. If you wish to continue making a difference in this way please complete a deduction form each year.
