ISU Debate Student Claims top Honor

 Bengal Debater Emma Grow captured first place in IPDA Novice Debate Rounds at the Steve Hunt Classic Speech & Debate Tournament Hosted by Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon.  

Bengal Speaker Ashley Helm was honored in the top two speakers following the breaks. Shea Elordi finished fifth in Novice Competition among all schools in the bracket which numbered 28. Idaho novices out-spoke long-time competitors Boise State, Weber State, and Whitman.

“I couldn’t be more pleased for our speakers,” said Andy Christensen, Assistant Director of the Squad.  “We have only a little bit of competition travel under our wings this year, so the fun is still to be seen.”
