ISU and Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance of Idaho announce third year partnership for Summer Community Theatre 2024 with "The Wizard of Oz" musical

ISU is thrilled to announce its continued partnership with Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance of Idaho for the third year of the highly anticipated Summer Community Theatre.
This partnership reflects a shared commitment to supporting local arts and fostering community engagement. The flagship musical for Summer Community Theatre 2024 will be the beloved classic, "The Wizard of Oz."
"The Wizard of Oz" will transport audiences to the enchanting land of Oz with captivating performances at the Bistline Theatre, located in the Stephens Performing Arts Center on the Idaho State University campus. The show dates are scheduled for June 21, 22, 24, and 27-29, with all performances starting at 7:30 p.m.
Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance of Idaho, an Idaho-based insurance company deeply committed to community values, has enthusiastically supported this partnership since its inception. Their CEO, Todd Argall, expressed his excitement about another year of collaboration.

ISU's Summer Community Theatre has become a treasured tradition over the years, showcasing the talent and dedication of local performers, musicians, and production crew members. Joining the production team this summer will be new ISU Theatre faculty members Jef Petersen and Chad Rodgers, along with longtime faculty, Tara Young and Music Faculty, Diana Livingston Friedley and Geoffrey Friedley. Audiences of all ages can expect an unforgettable experience as they follow Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion on their quest to find the wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Aspiring actors and performers: Mark your calendars for auditions Monday and Tuesday, April 15 and 16, from 5 - 8 p.m. in the Acting Classroom within the Stephens Performing Arts Center. To showcase your talent, please prepare a captivating 60-90 second monologue to bring your character to life. Additionally, don't forget to dazzle us with a 32-bar musical theatre cut in the style of the show. Whether you dream of stardom as Dorothy, the Scarecrow, or any other beloved character from this timeless tale, don't miss your chance to audition for "The Wizard of Oz" and be a part of this unforgettable production. *Must be age 10 and up to audition.
