Evacuation Drill: Areas of Assembly

August 28, 2023

Public Safety recently launched an online map to aid faculty, staff and students to identify where to go in the event they are asked to evacuate a building. The ISU Areas of Assembly Map identifies a zone that has been predetermined to be far enough away from a building to keep people safe in a variety of emergency situations. Occupants are asked to remain in that area until the building has been cleared and deemed safe.

Staff, faculty and students are asked to use this map to aid in the emergency evacuation drills taking place Aug 28 - Sept 8. As this is a new feature to our safety plans, the Department of Public Safety will be collecting data to verify these locations are the best for each building. We appreciate the assistance of staff, faculty, and students in this by adhering to any additional instructions provided by our safety team located at each building during the drill.

The link to find your area of assembly is available on our website and through the RAVE Guardian app. For additional information about this map, please visit our website. If you have questions, please reach out to emergencymanagement@isu.edu or call Public Safety at (208) 282-2515.
