Disability Services to Offer Accommodation Trainings via Zoom

August 28, 2023

Idaho State University Disability Services will offer Zoom trainings about the accessibility accommodations process in early September. The training schedule is listed below.

The trainings will provide a brief overview about disability law, its relationship to higher education and the role of the ISU Disability Services office.

Presenters will define the term “reasonable accommodations” and review the ISU accommodation process, which includes the instructor’s role regarding referrals to Disability Services and the implementation of approved accommodations.

In addition, presenters will address common questions about high-frequency accommodations and review procedures for addressing and reporting concerns.

“I highly recommend all faculty who are not familiar with the accommodations process to attend one of these trainings,” said Karina Mason Rorris, director of Disability Services. “These trainings will benefit faculty and students alike.”

These trainings will be presented by Rorris and Soni Myers, associate director of Disability Services.
