Department of English and Philosophy Hosts Visiting Fulbright Doctoral Researcher from Czech Republic

The Department of English and Philosophy welcomes Fulbright Doctoral Researcher Barbora Kaplánková, from the Czech Republic (or Czechia). Ms. Kaplánková is a Ph.D. candidate in Theory and History of Theatre, Film, Radio and Television at the Department of Theatre and Film Studies, Palacký University, Olomouc. Kaplánková, who will be in residence at ISU for fall 2023, is researching depictions of masculinity and femininity in fantasy film franchises. She will be working closely with Professor Emeritus Brian Attebery, a specialist in fantasy literature.
