College of Business to Host Melissa Lowry as New Executive in Residence

Students at the Idaho State University College of Business will be visited this week by Idaho State University alumnus and Chief Marketing Officer / Payment Leader / Advisor Melissa Lowry for a series of presentations during the College’s Executive in Residence multi-day event.
In addition to having lunch with a select group of graduate students, Lowry will visit several College of Business classes, where she will present on a variety of topics pertaining to her expertise and background. Students at every level from freshman to graduate will have the opportunity to hear from her. In addition to her class visits, she will hold a presentation Tuesday, Oct. 24 at 6 p.m. in BA 506 that is open to the public.
Lowry began her professional journey as an investment banking analyst at Lehman Brothers in New York, where she participated in deal teams within the Financial Institutions Group then was promoted to a business analyst position in an innovation group. After leaving New York to pursue her MBA, she joined a strategy team at Wells Fargo, significantly contributing to the launch of the Wells Fargo Private Bank and spearheading the development of Wells Fargo's proprietary mobile wallet.
Following her tenure at Wells Fargo, Lowry was hired as Head of Product and Marketing for San Francisco-based clearXchange, where she led the development and commercialization of a person-to-person digital payments network resulting in 25 million registered users. ClearXchange was acquired by Early Warning (now best known for being the owner of the Zelle Network®) in 2015.
During her time at Early Warning, Lowry played a critical role in the successful launch and rapid growth of Zelle®, delivering award-winning advertising campaigns and coordinating marketing efforts across hundreds of banks. Zelle® has processed over $1 trillion in the last two years alone and earned a spot among Morning Consult's 2022 Fastest Growing Brands. Lowry was named one of the Top 25 Rising Stars in Brand Marketing by Business Insiders in 2020, and she was promoted to Chief Marketing Officer at Early Warning in 2021.
