College of Business to Host Leading Sales Researcher Dr. Michael Ahearne as Fall 2023 Stratton Distinguished Research Scholar

The College of Business is proud to welcome Dr. Michael Ahearne, C.T. Bauer Professor of Marketing and Stagner Sales Excellence Institute Research Director, October 5 and 6 as the College’s Fall 2023 Stratton Distinguished Research Scholar.

Ahearne, known as one of the world's leading sales researchers, will be presenting on sales strategy Thursday, Oct. 5 at 3 p.m. in the Walter Brown Center for Sales Excellence inside the College of Business.

Ahearne's research has primarily focused on improving the performance of salespeople and sales organizations. He has published over 50 articles in research journals such as Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, Management Science, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, and Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes. The American Marketing Association has recognized Ahearne as one of the most research-productive scholars in the field of marketing. His research has been profiled in the Wall Street Journal, Business 2.0, Business Investors Daily, Forbes, Fortune, INC Magazine, and many other news outlets.

“We are thrilled to have Dr. Ahearne at Idaho State University to share his insights with our campus and community,” said College of Business Dean and Michael C. Ruettgers Professor of Marketing Dr. Shane Hunt.

In addition to his Oct. 5 presentation, which is free and open to all students and community members,  Ahearne will also be visiting College of Business classes and presenting to College faculty and staff on Friday, Oct. 6. Both presentations are a part of the Stratton Distinguished Research Scholar Seminar Series. 

“The Stratton Distinguished Research Scholar Series is a wonderful program,” Hunt said. “It provides opportunities for students, professors and community members to engage with world-renowned scholars and thought leaders in business [like Ahearne.]”
