Single Sign On Coming to BengalWeb
March 16, 2022
New single sign-on features will soon be available for many of Idaho State University's information technology systems. While this project is not yet complete, enough of the features are in place to enable users to begin to enjoy the benefits of single sign-on beginning March 25.
In the past, if you logged into BengalWeb, for example, and then tried to access Moodle, you would be asked to log in again. When SSO becomes available, you could log in to BengalWeb through the ISU Single Sign-On option, and you would not be asked to log in again to Moodle when you click on it. Instead, it will automatically open.
This SSO option will apply to many of ISU’s IT systems, including Moodle, Housing, Parking, Handshake, BOSS, Recruit, Navigate, and Barnes and Noble bookstore. Although SSO does not currently cover all IT systems, plans are in place to bring many more under the SSO umbrella.
You will be able to fully utilize the SSO features by going to the BengalWeb login page on March 25. You will see a new link at the top labeled ISU Single Sign-On. Clicking the link will take you to the familiar login page. Once you log in, BengalWeb will open, and you will be able to navigate directly to many of the other IT pages you normally use without having to re-enter your username and password.
