Idaho State University Department of Art to Host Annual Art a la Carte Silent Auction
February 14, 2022
The Idaho State University Department of Art will host its annual Art a la Carte Silent auction online offering artwork donated by faculty, students, and alumni to raise funds for art student scholarships.
Prime Time Auctions will host the auction on their website. It will run from Feb. 21 to March 4.
“There is something for everyone in our Art a la Carte auction this year,” Naomi Velasquez, chair of the Department of Art, said. “Faculty, students, alumni and community members have donated more than 75 pieces of artwork ranging from paintings and prints to jewelry and wearables.”
In addition to being a great opportunity for the community to see and procure some of the art from the department, the auction will provide funds to help student artists break down some of the cost barriers associated with pursuing an art education.
“In addition to books and tuition, art students also need materials and tools to create artwork, so this helps our students learn and create,” Velasquez said.
Auction artwork may be previewed in person in the John B. Davis Gallery on the 1st floor of the ISU Fine Arts Building. Gallery hours are Monday-Friday noon to 6 p.m.
Winning bidders must complete payment with Prime Time Auctions before picking up purchased art.
