Black Rock and Sage Seeks Submissions

Black Rock & Sage is ISU’s student journal of creative works that publishes annually. We welcome submissions of short fiction, photography, painting, poetry, costume design, musical compositions, creative nonfiction, sculpture, music performances, textiles, monologues, one-act plays, graphic novels, and more. Both undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to submit work. The magazine is accepting submissions up until February 14, 2023.

The goal of Black Rock & Sage is to publish the best creative works by the students at Idaho State University as we encourage them to develop and excel in their craft. Contributors to the 2022 issue represented departments across the university--Biology, English, Sociology, Theater, Music, Art. Poetry by undergraduates and all prose will be considered for our two prizes that include cash awards.
