On Wednesday afternoon, Governor Brad Little announced immediate changes to Idaho’s COVID-19 vaccine distribution timeline. The changes to vaccine eligibility mean earlier access to the vaccination than previously expected for all members of the Idaho State University campus community.

All members of the University community are encouraged to get a COVID-19 vaccine when it is available to them. All three currently available vaccines have been thoroughly tested and authorized by the FDA, which has confirmed the vaccines are safe and effective at preventing COVID-19.

STATE OF IDAHO VACCINE UPDATED SCHEDULE: MARCH 24, 2021

  • Effective immediately, all adults ages 45 and older are now eligible for the vaccine.
  • Beginning March 29, everyone ages 16 and older with a qualifying medical condition will be eligible. Common conditions include diabetes, heart conditions, obesity, and pregnancy.
  • Beginning April 5, everyone ages 16 and older will be eligible for the vaccine.

More information about Idaho’s vaccination timeline is available online, including pre-registration instructions. Contact your local public health district if you have questions about providers in your area or the vaccine. Bengal Pharmacy will be added as an authorized provider in the near future.
