University Returns to Operational Level Yellow
February 8, 2021
Effective today, Monday, February 8, Idaho State University will return to Level Yellow of the COVID-19 operational guidelines.
After reviewing public health metrics that account for both the regional and on-campus situations, the University’s Administrative Council has determined, in close consultation with the Health Committee, to return to Level Yellow.
This change directly impacts two categories:
- GROUP SIZE AND EVENTS –– beginning today, the allowable on-campus group size, outside academic courses, will change from 10 individuals to 50. This change still requires approval of a health exception submission for events over 50 individuals, physical distancing, face coverings, and other established public health guidelines. Academic courses are exempt from group size limits due to pre-approved health protocols in place.
- BUSINESS TRAVEL –– travel between Idaho State campuses for instructional purposes is allowable without vice president approval. Overnight business travel requires the approval of a vice president. All non-essential business travel remains prohibited at this time.
All other currently implemented operational guidelines remain in effect.
The University last changed operational levels on October 12, 2020. At that time, Idaho State began operating in a hybrid yellow/orange level that primarily impacted business travel and on-campus group sizes. The operational levels were developed to support the health and safety of the campus while maintaining campus operations and services. Each week, the University Health Committee compiles public health metrics that include the regional situation and specific campus-level indicators related to cases, infrastructure, and response capacity. The University's Administrative Council reviews the information weekly to determine the operational level for each campus location. The Roaring Back website is updated weekly to reflect operational guideline decisions.
Thank you for your patience, understanding, and diligence as we work together to serve our students and address the COVID-19 pandemic.
