The Department of English and Philosophy is pleased to announce the 2021 winners of the Outstanding Graduate Student Teaching Awards. Each year, the English Graduate Committee recognizes excellence in graduate student teaching, and the contribution that these teachers make to our University. Nominated by faculty and their peers, these graduate student teachers enrich the academic experience of ISU undergraduates, and foster a welcoming, rigorous classroom environment.  One award is given annually to a Ph.D. student and another to an M.A. student.

This year’s recipients are:

Cameron Sedlacek, honorable mention, Outstanding Teacher – Ph.D. student

Morgan Spalding, Outstanding Teacher – M.A. student

The Department of English and Philosophy has three graduate programs, a Ph.D. in English and the Teaching of English, and M.A. in English, and a graduate certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. To learn more about these programs, please visit isu.edu/English.
