University Libraries Announce New Moodle Badges
December 9, 2021
The Idaho State University Libraries are offering a new set of ResearchPath information literacy instruction modules that will award “badges” in Moodle ISU to students who complete them.
These ResearchPath modules cover basic information literacy skills that can serve as an introduction or refresher to library research (not a replacement for full library workshops). They cover the basics of college-level research expectations, defining and refining a topic, using the library’s OneSearch bar, using the internet, and citing sources.
ResearchPath badges display on a student's full Moodle profile for two years after they are earned, and serve as testament that the student has passed ResearchPath quizzes. Instructors may choose to exempt students with badges from having to re-take the ResearchPath quizzes.
Instructors can request these new ResearchPath information literacy modules to upload into their Moodle courses. To learn more about badges and the ResearchPath information literacy modules, please see the full announcement here, or use the Request form on the Library Support for Online Instruction guide.
