Please Check Spam Folders
September 27, 2021
On September 17, we began seeing an increase in ISU Gmail messages being marked as spam, being routed to spam folders, and/or having a grey warning attached that the email might be spam. This seems to be mostly affecting any message coming from our mailman listserv as well as automated Argos reports, although it has been affecting some personal emails as well.
ITS is investigating the situation internally and working with Google Support to identify the cause and implement a solution.
In the meantime, we encourage you to check your spam folder regularly. If you see something in your spam folder that should NOT be marked as spam, you can unmark it as spam, which will help retrain the gmail spam filter. (Click here for instructions on how to unmark spam in Gmail.) You can also add the sender to your Contacts, which keeps future messages from that sender from being marked as spam. (Click here for instructions on how to add a sender to your Contacts.)
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our IT Service Desk at x4357, or at help@isu.edu.
