College of Education Professor Appointed to the NCSM Board of Directors

Cory A. Bennett, Professor in the College of Education Teaching and Educational Studies Department, was appointed to the NCSM Board of Directors this fall 2021 as the PositionPapers Editor.
NCSM is nationally recognized as the premiere mathematics education leadership organization. NSCM’s mission is to equip and empower a diverse education community to engage in leadership that supports, sustains, and inspires high quality mathematics teaching and learning every day for each and every learner.
Bennett specializes in the teaching and learning of mathematics within the College of Education and works with teachers, teacher leaders, and entire school districts across the globe to make mathematics more meaningful and applicable for students.
“NCSM plays a key role in guiding and supporting the work of maths leaders across the world,” he said, “Continuing this work, and helping other maths leaders access the resources they need to support the teaching and learning of maths in their own context, is of great importance to me.”
In this role, Bennett is responsible for assessing current needs related to mathematics education leadership and developing research-based position papers around these topics.
