College of Business Center Helps Amazing Glaze Donuts with New PSUB Location

The new Amazing Glaze Donuts location in the Student Union brings delicious potato donuts to campus.

The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) in the College of Business started working with Amazing Glaze several years ago, when Katie Giesbrecht was working as a barista for Double Shot Donuts.  She and her husband were both looking for new opportunities when the owners offered to sell the business to Dean and Katie.  The Giesbrechts had seven months to learn the business before the sale went through, and they spent that time “interning” with the previous owners and working with the SBDC. 

“Our banker recommended we call the SBDC, and we are so glad we did.  Claudia walked us through everything,” said Katie.  They reopened as “Amazing Glaze” donuts in August of 2017.  Proudly, Dean and Katie opened a new location in the ISU Student Union just before Christmas. 

“We are so glad to have helped Amazing Glaze grow and expand,” said Ann Swanson, the Director of the Small Business Development Center.
